Another Milestone

January 2020 We finally had all our equipment sitting in the shed along with the poles specially engineered and the concrete blocks being made up after work It was time to go install some cameras It was a great feeling finally putting cameras up as the hard work we had done learning about running equipment, getting our website built and finally persuading the banks to lend us some money we felt like we had done it, Our goal was reached. As they say with every solution fixed or 1 step taken forward theres another 3 setbacks aimed right at you to kick you in every way possible We had cameras going flat, network issues, camera issues, streaming issues you name it, everything that we didn't see coming hit us every single day We were at a different camera every second day dealing with different issues each time all hours of the night & weekends taking on challenge after challenge but we never once thought about giving up. Why you ask? This is our passion We knew what we wanted to achieve, we had very clear goals before putting our first camera up and we knew that with hard work and determination we could overcome every challenge The importance of teamwork or having two people in the business showed its true light during our first 2-3 years One day I would be down and seeing no way forward where Nigel would be up and taking on the pending challenge, the next day Nigel would be down and I would be up and this really helped both of us remember our goal and take one step at a time. Without this teamwork and if this venture was on one person with our knowledge base at the time, I 100% know we wouldn’t be here today

Year one was a relief to get to, year 2 became slightly easier but still had challenge after challenge thrown at us however the lead into year 3 has really felt like were at home and we now feel solidified on the product that we have and the service that we offer Year 3 has been a year of fine tuning and growing on our knowledge base and having the time and clear mind to focus on growing and most importantly improving our camera system. This is something we didn't have in the first two years as it was constantly putting out fires and constantly fighting to have working cameras for you all This business is unique in many ways, there wasn’t anyone else offering livestreams of rivers so one of our major challenges was finding the right equipment and knowledge to run it was just not possible There wasn’t a buy off the shelf pack with everything you needed, plug it in and away you go We had to throw ourselves in the deep end and learn and soak up as much knowledge as we could in a short period of time

This all seemed hard a the time as we had to learn everything, and I mean everything but now were able to look back at all this it really was a blessing With us having to learn then fight fires and learn from this then learn from the next challenge it meant we knew every single detail about our business If it was an off the shelf setup then we would be leaving any issues in the hands of an expert and with this action wouldn’t happen quick enough If something needed fixing we couldn’t wait for someone else, we had to act now as we didn't want our brand and all the hard work being undone by things not running right on your end The money factor also came into this, we couldn’t afford to not have our cameras running and we certainly couldn’t afford to pay someone to fix it ( if there was a someone ) which leads me to our next challenge, The Bank !!

When stating this unique business we saw a different side to the banking industry which really did surprise us We were told No !!! 17 times which left us scratching our heads wondering what are they thinking? We weren’t ignorant thinking in our own heads that this business would work, we knew it would and we could see how much work wed put in and the potential but bank after bank kept shooting us down They didn't get it !! They didn't understand the concept and because this was something completely new they just didn't want the risk For example if we were to setup a plumbing business in a saturated market we would've got the big fat cheque signed sealed delivered but for this they just didn't understand what we were trying to do Some questions were “so your going to put cameras in trees at the river?” Or “your going to put a camera at the river so people can hold up their fish and get a photo?”

Time after time “sorry its not something were interested in” but this wasn’t going to stop us In what felt like the final minutes we randomly met someone on the street who loved fishing and coincidentally worked at a bank and arranged a meeting with the business lender who immediately understood what we were trying to achieve. The cheque was finally on its way Money isn’t cheap and a very large debt was scary so again this forced us to do whatever we could ourselves to make every dollar go further One example of this is Nigel went and got his HT license so we could save thousands in transport by delivering the poles and concrete blocks and doing the installs ourselves You might read this and think yeah that makes sense whereas at the time we had to look at everything with a fine tooth comb and ensure we could achieve our goals of getting these very expensive camera stations setup and running

Theres so many things to look back on and let out a breathe of relief thinking Im not sure how we got out of that one and that is really satisfying The late nights, stress, laughter and happiness we’ve taken from these last 3 years have all added up to why we are here today You - the Subscriber Where do we begin, thank you isn’t even enough Theres the obvious comment we wouldn’t be here without your $12/month contribution but to us its more than that We are so bloody lucky to have the support of so many passionate people who believe in us This business isn’t about what colour Lamborghini we want, its about all of us and our passion which is our waterways whether its fishing or jet boating The support from you all just blows us away and we really cant thank you enough We have some very strong goals of what we want to achieve with Outdoor Access and you are part of this So thank you To the future No doubt there will be challenges, who doesn't have a challenge in some way shape or form in their daily life, this is normal we are all now better equipped to face these and move forward We are full of positivity and excitement.
